Strange But True in Montpelier: A TV Show Filming and Local History Class
For Kindergarten to 5th Grade
We’re making a TV show and Montpelier’s youngest detectives are on the case!
This fall, children will have the chance to investigate and reveal Montpelier’s favorite mysteries! From the tooth in the wall, to the Thanatos sculpture, to secret hidden bomb shelters, and a local living connection to Buckingham Palace, children will be able to pick and choose which stories they want to look into for each episode.
Everyone in the class will have the option to learn videography behind the camera, write scripts for the show, try out their best TV broadcaster voices in front of the camera, learn how to cut and edit videos, and do historical research. We’ll have special professional guests drop in to give our students filmmaking tips and advice all along the way.
This class runs for 11 weeks. Children may be dropped off between 3-3:30pm. We will provide a walking school bus from Union Elementary School.
Children enrolled in our fall session will have first dibs on the Winter 2025-2026 Session, in order to provide a continuity of after school programming for families who would like it.
Fridays 3pm to 5pm | August 30, 2025 to November 22, 2025 (No class on Oct 11th and Nov 8th.)
