MARIA ARSENLIS, CO-FOUNDER

Maria is a mother of two children in Montpelier, VT. She has degrees in engineering from Cornell University and law from George Mason University. She has 7 years of experience in engineering and law, and has also worked as a travel photographer for the past 8 years in San Francisco, with work appearing in Conde Nast Traveler, SF Travel, SF Chronicle, SF Eater and Eater National. She brings her STEM experience to Wilder Arts, teaching children basic circuitry, physics, robotics, and the science of photography.

SOFIA FRILUND, CO-FOUNDER

Sofia is a practicing artist and designer in Montpelier, VT and a mother of three. She holds a degree in Industrial Design from Parsons School of Design and received The Industrial Design Society of America’s Student Merit Award in 2017 for her innovative work on sustainable design. She has 3 years of experience working at design and ceramic studios in New York City. Before moving to the United States from Denmark, Sofia worked for three years as a teacher at a preschool, leading arts classes amongst other things. She has also taught performing arts classes at summer camps in Denmark, and volunteered to lead museum tours for elementary students in New York. She brings her background in education and design to Wilder Arts, teaching courses on design-build, construction and sustainable design.
