Rocket Science for Beginners: Aerodynamics, Vacuums, and Building Rockets

$420.00

For Kindergarten to 2nd grade

This the is perfect class for the kid that likes science, flight, and outerspace! Every week, kids will break into groups to recreate science experiments that will help teach them the science of flight and outerspace. This class is timed to coincide with NASA’s Artemis II launch, the first creweed flight to the moon in 50 years.

During the course of the class, children will explore vacuum chambers to better understand the conditions in outerspace. They will build a prototype motor. They will also explore how airplanes, helicopters and rockets take flight. All of their work will come together in the last experiment of the class: designing and launching their team’s rocket using real rocket motors.

This class will run for 13 weeks, each week building on the prior week’s work. Drop off is between 3-3:30pm. We will provide a walking school bus from Union Elementary School to Wilder Arts Studio.

Wednesdays 3pm to 5pm | March 18, 2026 to June 17, 2026 (No class on April 22nd)
