One of our most requested classes — learn how to paint!
For this class, we will break out our adult-quality paint brushes, paints, canvas, and wood so that each child can learn to work with real artists’ materials.
Students will work at their own easel station and learn the basics of acrylic painting: using the right brush for the right job, understanding color basics, how to layer colors, how to fix “mistakes”, understanding composition basics, and how to create depth in paintings. Children will learn how to paint landscapes and portraits, working in wet and dry painting techniques. We’ll be working on how to create lifelike tree textures as well as hair and shadows.
This class will run for 12 weeks, each class building on lessons learned. Drop off will be at the studio between 3-3:30pm. We will provide a walking school bus from Union Elementary School.
Fridays, 3-5pm | December 4, 2026 - March 12, 2027 (No class on Dec 25th, Jan 1st, and Feb 25th)
