Action Figure Design Camp: 3D Printing, Computer Software Design, and Acrylic Painting
For ages 8-12
Calling all young creators and inventors! This is your chance to design your own action figures AND THEN USE A 3D PRINTER TO PRINT THEM OUT!
In this class, local toy designer Ben Bearsch will guide children on how to unleash their creativity and design custom figurines from scratch. We will start by learning to use simple, kid-friendly 3D design software to create characters, animals, or any other imaginative creatures. Once the designs are ready, kids will prepare their models for printing by learning how to make them sturdy and print-friendly.
The fun doesn’t stop there! We’ll watch as our 3D printers bring these designs to life. After printing, students will get to paint and decorate their figurines to make them completely unique. Along the way, children will learn basic concepts of 3D design, printing technology, and how these amazing tools are used in the real world.
Kids can focus on the parts of the process they love most, whether it’s designing, printing, or painting. Our team will follow each child’s interests and guide them through the entire process. At the end of the class, each student will take home their very own custom 3D-printed figurine!
