Summer Wilder Arts Open Studio: Children's Edition
Tuesday Afternoons, 1-4pm | June 22, 2026-August 18, 2026 (No studio on July 7, 14, and 28)
For ages 5-10, must be accompanied by adult
Join us this summer for children’s makerspace hours. Sign up for as many hours as you’d like, and drop in to the studio any Tuesday to create and build with your kids.
In Open Studio, kids will decide if they are taking on sewing, woodworking, mechanics, circuitry, photoshop, filmmaking, graphic design, computer programming, clay sculpting, jewerly making, felting, weaving or anything else necessary to achieve their design. Wilder Arts teachers will be on hand to guide and teach children and their adults on the skills needed to achieve their design.
All students will be challenged to dream up their own design, create detailed plans and sketches that show their designs’ dimensions and materials, and then use any tool in the studio to create it. They will be able to work on as many designs as they can complete.
In the past, children have used Open Studio to make their own animated cartoons, acrylic landscapes on canvas, earrings and other jewelry, a board game table, numerous nightstands, bookshelves, bedspreads, upholstered benches, cat trees, a scripted film, a model sailboat, screenprinted sweatshirts, jackets, skirts… the list goes on.
The complexity of the design will be partially determined by how many hours people have signed up for. Woodworking projects begin at 6 hours.
Price includes all materials and tools.
