Mission to Mars: Exploring the Final Frontier

Calling all astronauts, engineers, scientists and artists!
This class is ALL about outerspace, and using it for inspiration to create replicas of the universe and the actual Mars rover. Kids will sculpt their projects out of clay, paper mache, circuits, DC motors, screws, and bolts. We’ll also learn about the composition of planets in our solar system, what gravitational forces are, and do experiments to learn about the vacuum of space.
This class will run for eight weeks. We will provide a walking school bus from Union Elementary School to Wilder Arts Studio.
(As always, all COVID protocols will be followed, including open windows and several air purifiers spread throughout the studio. All Wilder Arts staff are vaccinated. Everyone will be required to wear masks, regardless of vaccination status. Weather and conditions permitting, we will also utilize our outdoor tent for snacks and work.)
